This Charming Man

Saba may be a young college student but you'll never find him in sweatpants. Men of all ages take note, dressing well can be as simple as a well fitting undershirt, your favorite old sweater, your grandfather's slacks and a great pair of worn in oxfords.

The goods:

Vintage cashmere cardigan by the Scotch House

White V-neck undershirt

High waisted pleated and slightly tapered pants by Ralph Lauren

Brown braided leather belt

Cole Haan Derringer Oxfords

Shit watch by Calypso

Accessories - Japanese Shinto temple beads

Celebrating: Clarks

It's impossible to go wrong with Clark's timeless Wallabee or Desert Boot, inspired by the crepe-soled boots worn by British officers during World War II. Pair with dark denim and a parka and you, like Ian Brown, will be adored.

From Band Shirts to Button-ups

I should confess outright that I have no training in fashion, let alone men's fashion. I know nothing of design and very little about designers. That being said, I do greatly appreciate a well dressed man.

It may be the age I find both myself and friends at, and relatedly, the natural progression away from band shirts towards sophistication, but I've noticed a surge in creativity amongst young men, a consciousness surrounding detail, a growing desire for fine tailoring and a deeper appreciation for all things classic. And how exciting this is!

This blog intends to celebrate the transition to great style, whether in thrift store garb or Valentino (damn the Spring 09 line!). In addition to clothing, the occasional impressive beard, noteworthy accessory, well-crafted shoe and relevant bit of history will be discussed.
